Peter Chatwin, born Birmingham 1945, and Pamela Martin, born London 1949 Chatwin: Birmingham College of Art and Design; Martin: Loughborough College of Art and Design. Artistic partnership formed 1981
Chatwin is currently associate senior lecturer at Manchester Metropolitan University, and Martin is visiting lecturer and external examiner at various universities
Recent exhibitions include Angel Row Gallery, Nottingham; Oxford University Museum of Natural History; Contemporary Arts, London
Currently involved in collaborative work with the entomologist Peter O’Toole, exploring the nature of the art—science relationship
Assheton Gorton

Born Sedbergh, Yorkshire
Studied architecture at Cambridge University and fine art at the Slade School in London
Presently lives Powys, Wales
Production designer for many years. Initially worked on over forty ‘Armchair Theatre’ productions, then moved into film where his work included ‘Lost Angels’, ‘The French Lieutenant’s Woman’, ‘Gulliver’s Travels’, ‘The Magic Christian’ and ‘Blow Up’
Drawings included in the Hayward Gallery’s ‘British Drawing’ show
Asif Kamal

Born 1943, northern Pakistan
Medical doctor by training; a self-taught painter
Presently lives and works in Lincolnshire
Exhibitions include the City Gallery, Leicester; Ikon, Birmingham; Eastern Open, King’s Lynn; Usher Gallery, Lincoln
Was consultant physician at Lincoln County Hospital until 2005
Ken Lee

Studied painting at Middlesborough College of Art, the Slade School of Fine Art and the British School in Rome
Taught at Lincoln, Leeds and Nottingham art schools
Presently lives and works in Collingham, Nottinghamshire
Author of seven shows for the professional theatre, two of which transferred to the West End and were subsequently produced for BBC television; was also set and costume designer for the theatre and also for Scottish Opera, the Madrid Opera House and the Royal Opera House, London
Anastasia Lewis

Presently lives and works in both Lincolnshire and London
Exhibitions include ‘ArtFutures’, Contemporary Art Society, London; Kettle’s Yard Open; Concourse Gallery at the Barbican, London
During the late 1970s/1980s was theatre designer and costume designer, supplying and making costumes for major television series and films

Presently lives and works in Southwell, Nottinghamshire
Exhibited prolifically throughout the UK since the early 1970s, including latterly at the Natural History Museum, London, Nigel Greenwoods Galleries, London, the Aldborough Festival and regularly at the Wirksworth Festival (with Peter Cartwright and David Willetts)
Highly regarded for his methodical ‘in situ’ recordings of the natural flora and forna of the British countryside. ‘David’s Meadow’, a study of the butterflies of a disused railway track, featured in ‘Bellamy’s Britain’ TV series some years ago
Susan Michie

Born Edinburgh
1960s/1970s worked variously within the film industry, latterly as assistant film editor to Tom Priestley, Stephen Frears, Halas and Batchelor, Ridley Scott Associates and Hugh Hudson. Returned to the industry in the 1990s, writing the screenplay ‘Separate Lives’ and various film treatments and adaptations, including work for Hat Trick Productions.

Taught at Derby, Loughborough and Bradford colleges of art and latterly was course leader for MA fine art at Nottingham Trent University
Presently lives in Southwell, Nottinghamshire and is a panel member of East Midlands Arts and a member of the Arts Council Advisory Committee
Solo exhibitions include the Ikon Gallery, Birmingham; Bonington Gallery, Nottingham; Coracle Press, London; and the Cairn Gallery, Nailsworth
